The Fourth Kind

I watched this movie one night late, and sheezz man, what a film! Not in a Gladiator/Lord of the Rings type of way, but in a disturbing/scary type of way. It falls into the same category as Paranormal Activity. It centers around a series of strange encounters documented by psychologist Abigail Tyler (Jovovich / Milchard) in the nowhere town of Nome in Alaska.

It claims to be based on true events, and the thing that makes this movie so real is it shows ‘real’ footage of what supposedly really happened in the year 2000. That lady freaks me out…

Whether it’s true or not, I don’t know… check the Wikipedia link here.

Watch this if you loved Paranormal Activity.

Paranormal Activity gets a Sequel

Well.. Hollywood just can’t leave a good thing can they… the scare-block-buster of the year that cost a mere $15 000 and made $151 million is set to get a sequel. I know.. crappy hey.

The director of Saw VI will be at the helm, Kevin Greutert. But I have a feeling this will not nearly be as good, and a failed attempt to do what the first one did.

All in all this was a piss scary movie…

Cheers

Paranormal Weekend, Week 2 Begin!

Let the second week of the year begin! The second working week that is. The weekend was pretty quiet, I had the chance to finally watch Paranormal Activity, more on that in a moment. I also had practiced my 7ee4 Guitar Hero Skills. Man I love guitar Hero. I must have an XBox!!!

Apart from the mundane-has-no-meaning activities, I am slowly but surely getting into the vibe of organizing my goals for 2010. I like to think that without goals for the year, we are nothing more but a boat getting tossed about by the waves. No direction, no nothing. We need a compass, that directs us to where we need to go. This is the most vital thing one can have in life.

Anyhow, back to Paranormal Activity. Was it as scary as everyone said? noway. Was it disturbing? Yes. It tells the story of a couple living in a rather big house to prove the presence of “Paranormal Activity” in their house by recording it on Video Camera. One quickly gets drawn into the movie, where you sit and hold your breath as you watch the bedroom scene in the dark, waiting for something “Scary” to happen. The reason why this is so disturbing for me, is because it is real. I don’t want to go into too much detail here, but the world of Demons and “Paranormal Activity” is real. whether you believe it or not.

I was expecting another Blair Witch Project, but luckily it’s not, you don’t get a headache from a low-budget handy-cam bouncing around all the time. This was the biggest FTW for me. Is this movie based on a true story?

It’s Paranormal Activity

So what’s next in the line of movies these days? After District9, the only thing left to look forward to is Avatar? There is one movie though that got my attention: Paranormal Activity. already dubbed as another low-budget to-be blockbuster, this years Blair witch, it is apparently going to be as scary as hell!! Read some of the first impressions here.

Here’s the plot:

After a young, middle class couple moves into what seems like a typical suburban ‘starter’ tract house, they become increasingly disturbed by a presence that may or may not be somehow demonic but is certainly most active in the middle of the night. Especially when they sleep. Or try to

Hhmm.. apparently from the preview, you DON’T have your short violin classic-overplayed-woman-walks-down-the-dark-corridor scenes. Feedback says it’s real, real life real! I cant wait!
