A7X New Single + 27 July Album Release Date!!!!
What Awesome news!!! My favorite band has just released their new single called “Nightmare”. I am desperately searching the interwebs for a cpy of it, amazon had a 30 second snippet for a short period. Check out the art-work! FTW!!!!
Not only this, but it is rumored that the new album will be released on July 27th!
Oh… I forgot to mention the small matter of Mike Portnoy being the drummer for Avenged for the remainder or 2010!
Holy crap, this is awesome news!!! I need this album!! I want it!! Give it to meeeee!!!!

Mike Portnoy get his A7X Bat Tat [PICS]!
I posted earlier that Mike Portnoy, one of the world’s greatest drummers is completing the studio recording on behalf of the late ‘Rev’. It seems to have been an awesome match, this is what Mike had to say [MetalHammer]:
“Me and Zacky celebrated by getting matching Death Bat tats here in the studio… I also went with Matt on Saturday night when he got a new Death Bat tat with Jimmy’s face.”
“I must thank the amazing Avenged Sevenfold fans for being so open and welcoming to me. I was fearing them being very defensive over The Rev’s drum throne, but they’ve all been so supportive, open-minded, understanding and excited by the news… It is a huge relief to me and the guys!
“What an awesome family spirit these guys have… lotsa love! Shadows, Gates, Zacky and Johnny are now my brothers for life… Hopefully this wont be the last time I play with them.
“And oh yeah… The album is gonna be incredible! The Rev is absolutely looking down with a big-ass smile on his face!”
This has been followed up by a statement from A7X guitarist Zacky Vengeance who says:
“Finished tracking drums with MP. They sound fucking amazing. Jimmy will be proud. Jimmy’s also smiling knowing that Mike Portnoy has a deathbat forever tattooed on him. To show Mike that A7X is deeper then just a band I got one to match his. Jimmy would have done the same.
“Mike realized that our fans and friends are considered family. Being an A7X fan isn’t always easy because it means you’re not only gonna laugh with us, but cry with us and defend us on occasion. If you’re part of the family it’s for life. Shads dedicated his right hand to our brother, without hesitation.
“I believe what we all share together is magical and wouldn’t have it any other way…Ill try my best to keep you updated from the studio.”

Mike Portnoy with A7X in Studio!!
Well how cool is this news! You should all know by now that I am a huge Avenged Sevenfold fan! You may also know that recently their drummer, Rev, passed away. I was not sure how far they were with their new album, but apparently Mike Portnoy, the Drummer-God from Dream Theater will be playing/completing the drums in the Studio!
This is F#%# Awesome news!!! I’ve always said that Dream Theater are Musical-Technicians. They way they manage to put music together, tweak it and make something so extraordinary its scary. I am dying to hear the combination between him and A7X!!!
This is what the band had to say:
“We asked Jimmy’s all-time favorite drummer Mike Portnoy to record on behalf of him. Mike said it would be an honor and without question that’s what Jim would have wanted.
“It’s comforting to us that someone like Mike, who is undoubtedly revered as one of the best drummers in the world, held such respect and adoration for the Rev’s abilities.
“Even though it will never be the same without our brother by our side, his essence lives in our hearts and through the music he helped create. He was a legend before any of the success or any of that bullshit and we are fucking excited to lay this down for our fans, and especially for Jimmy.”

- In other Music news, Bullet for my Valentine are slowly but surely announcing more and more on their new album. We know the new single is called “Betrayed”. Today they announced the album is called Fever. Trying to get my hands on an early track released on the web.
