Beating traffic using maths.

I found this post very interesting. I have always prided myself in finding backroutes home and trying to beat traffic jams most days. This guy took it even further by using maths data gathered over a whole year and working out all kinds of statistical data.

I must admit that I would never go to all this trouble and relied mostly on instinct and my trusty GPS. Still a very different approach to something most of  us has at least some issue with.

Usefull App for the week.

Boy am I glad I ran into this app. I tend to work on quite a few printers during my job and must admit I have had my irritations when using different programs and switching between printers.Quite simply allows you to specify which printer is allocated to a certain program.

This little app just made my week. Hope you will find it as usefull as I did.

You can find it here:

Best Movies to Test your Sound System…

So you dished out a bit of moola for a sound system, and you are rockin’ the house when there’s a party. Now you want to extend your coolness to when watching a movie, get the best out of your sound system. Here’s a few movie’s that will really bring out the best in your 5.1 +  Sound System:

1. Ronin: Starring Robert De Niro, probably one of the best spy films ever. what you want to check here is the car chase scene. Will be pure heaven if your System can hack it.

2. House of Flying Daggers: Checkout the scene in the beginning of the movie where the blind chick throws all those pebbles against those drums! Surround sound at it’s best!

3.  The Fifth Element: An old one, but a classic. Not one of my personal favorites (when testing sound) but all round the entire movie should be great candy for the ears and the eyes.

4.  Terminator 2: Judgement Day. Where to start? Pick any scene and the action screams at you from all sides. And don’t forget the chase.

5. Saving Private Ryan: This list would not be complete without this movie. The beginning 20 minutes lays the foundation for all Surround Sound movies. Get thrown in the middle of D-Day with bullets flying past your head!

6. Heat: My personal favorite, the chase/shooting scene right after the bank robbery. This blew me away on normal TV speakers, on a great sound system this is my level-of-greatness-to-beat.

What other scenes are there?

Fringe, the end…of Season 2.

I finally watched the last episode of season 2. If you have not watched this, then be warned. This post here, it contains SPOILERS.

But, before I start my review, checkout this deleted scene which may or my not give additional details about what the alternate universe it like. A Classic scene with Walter and Peter driving a classic Ford. Click.

Right, I love Fringe. This is without a doubt the best series I’ve watched in a long time! Competes with Heroes Season 1, Dexter Season 4, and even Lost Season 1.

So, in the last episode, we have a battle of the 2 universes, be it an unofficial battle between the 2 fringe divisions, still. Walternate’s intentions with Peter is made clear. Real-Olivia, Walter and Real-William Bell try and rescue Peter from Walternate’s plans of destroying our Universe. Phew… sounds pretty hectic.

There are so many scenes that are simply mind-blowing! The quarantined zones on the other-world look awesome! Walter’s acting is the best I’ve seen! The scene between Him and William Bell is awesome!

I will not reveal the end here… which is just as jaw-dropping as the entire series, which without a doubt leaves room for a super-amazing-Inter-galactic-universal-traveling-season-3.

1. I find it hard to believe that Walter was solely responsible for all the carnage in the alternate world.
2. William answers Walters question on why he removed parts of his brain so he can’t remember his wife and how to travel back. The answer is “Because you asked me to Walter”. BoooOOOOooomm!!! Is Bell telling the truth?
3. Did Alternate-William-Bell really die in a car crash? Well seeing as Nimoy is done with acting, I would think he has no future with Fringe, but you never know.
4. What the hell did Walternate do to real-Olivia? In a matter of days (possibly) shes broken down to tears and an emotional wreck?
5. Awesome showdown between Real-Olivia and Alternate-Olivia!

In the end! Awesome Awesome series, countdown to Season 3 begin!
